Danelle P Stratham , NH March 07, 2015 Appliance: Kenmore Sears/Range 0582 79094369701 Front left burner was not working on my glass top range 1. I ordered a new burner. It didn't fix it. 2. I ordered a new burner switch. It didn't fix it. But still needed to be replaced because I cold see itt had burned out. 3. I checked the wires to the burner, then to the switch, they were all fine. I probably should have done this first. My last possible solution was the simmer switch board. I couldn't visually see any points of failure but it really was my last resort before calling a repair man or buying a new stove. 4. I ordered new board. FYI, there were two screw extender pegs on the board which had to be switched to the new board. They were super difficult to remove. Try pinching with small needle nose pliers. The new board fixed it! I was so proud! I told my husband at the beginning of this journey that I was going to do this repair myself and I did it! Apparently, the switch burned out and then arced back to the board and burned the board. My best advice would be to use your cell phone to take pictures before you disconnect anything so you can put the wires back in the right configuration. Kerry O Battle Creek , MI December 26, 2014 Bright blue flash smoke and breaker trip when the "simmer" burner was turned on Pulled the back panel on the range and found a circuit board burned. I looked up the part number and found a replacement board very easily. Had it shipped directly to my house for cheaper than I could find it from anyone in town. Replaced the part and it worked great!
