Gary G Ofallon , MO July 12, 2015 This was for a friend of mine his refrigerator stopped cooling This was a 2000 model so rather than just replace the defrost timer which was visibly burnt on the terminals, we just did everything. The cold control, defrost timer, thermostat, defrost heater and the compressor capacitor were all replaced. I had the same issue on my older unit and tore it apart replacing one item at a time over a three month period so on an older one i suggest do it all while it is apart. Richard C Saint Augustine , FL October 05, 2014 Appliance: Model 253.68802013 The defrost timer stopped working the ice buildup damaged the temp control I removed to the cover to the coil, defrosted coil with a heat gun and checked the heater strip resistance. I set timer to defrost by hand to make sure everything was working. There was damage to the temp control sensor. Both parts were on your web site at a good price, ordering was easy. The parts were in the mail two days later. A screwdriver and nut driver were the only other tools other than a multi meter. Parts installed in five min. I had the option of talking with a pro !!! Cedric G Waco , TX September 29, 2015 Refrigerator freezer not freezing and bottom not getting cold I replaced cold control thermostat which did not resolve the issue. Then I noticed condenser fan was not turning. I replaced this fan motor and cleaned condensor coils underneath fridge. Got somewhat colder but not 0-10 degrees fahrenheit. in freezer or 34 to 40 degrees in bottom. So I had to tap suction line (larger line) at compressor and add small amount of R 134a refrigerant . Tap was made with piercing or sometimes called a bullet valve. About 3 to 5 psi gauge pressure. That did the trick. Now 0 degrees in freezer section and about 34 degrees in bottom section of fridge. I have been A/C tech for 20 or so years. I recommend getting tech to perform adding refrigerant to unit since it comes sealed from factory. I really don't think I needed to cold control but since it was new I left in on for good measure....Happy campers now in Texas and a wife thats stop nagging for now at least.
