Dante B New Orleans , LA January 15, 2015 Appliance: Model FRIGIDAIRE LGHS2667KE0 Error code sy ce on the front control panel We have a Frigidaire LGHS2667KE0. I’m not an appliance technician. Our refrigerator was not working. We were getting an error code SY CE on the front control panel. I tried unplugging it for about an hour and plug it back in. The refrigerator would cut off and on for about 30 seconds, shut down and beep leaving me with the same code. I called an appliance repair technician who pulled the main board from the front bottom of the refrigerator. He believed it was a relay and or the compositors on the main board that went bad. He wanted to replace the board for $300.00 dollars, Part Number 5303918498. I decided it was easy enough to do it myself. We bought the main control board from a local appliance store. I came home and hooked it up and the refrigerator did not power on. The front display panel didn’t even come on. I brought it back thinking I received a faulty part. I got the part replaced and hooked it up. Nothing happened. After reading a few posts, we decided to try changing the front display panel, Part Number 241973711. I changed that out and used the old “original” main control board. It did the same thing as before. However, this time it would stay on if I had the freezer door open. So I kept the new display board in and hooked up the new main control board and wallah! It worked. Pay attention, new main control board with old display panel did not fix it, didn’t even power up. New display board with old main control board did not fix it, it did power on with code error code. New main control board with new display panel fixed it. This makes me believe that the new control board does not work with the existing display panel. The new control board is not exactly like the one that came with the refrigerator. Richard S Hainesport , NJ March 12, 2014 Frigidaire Refrigerator error code SY CE system comminication error This is a generic error code. Usually indicates the main control board (circuit card behind lower left kick panel) is bad. The ordered part is an updated suitable substitute for the original part that requires adapter harnesses (come with the part). This communicates with the display board on the freezer door. YOU MUST REPLACE BOTH THE CONTROL BOARD & THE DISPLAY BOARD AT THE SAME TIME. If you only replace the main control board, your frig will be dead, not even power up. The board is not bad, it just needs a new display board to communicate with successfully. Replace both. Trust me, or try just one first and prove it for yourself. The hardest part of this repair is the main control board location (if you're replacing it too, see above), tilting the refrigerator back and keeping it safely stable while you access the underside. The rest is cake. Also, when removing the freezer door trim to access the display board, use a thin plastic scraper to pry the trim out until the clips pop loose. Plastic will not scratch the finish of the freezer door. Read More... 47 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Socket Set
Donald G Jackson , MI October 19, 2015 Frigidaire model fghs 2655 keo error code sy ce Frig would kick on and off until the code sy ce would show on the door. If I would hear it happening I would open the freezer door for about 30 sec. and close slowly and it would be fine. But if we miss it it would shut down. I ordered switch board and electrical control board.Electrical control board was easy putty knife was only tool needed took about 10 min.. The switch board only tool needed was a 1/4 inch wrench or socket.when you remove the tray under the frig. it is a tight fit but you do not have to jack up or tilt the frig to get it out. You unplug the cables and and the new switch board has new wires to adapt the new board. The only problem with the replacement is getting all the new wires back in the switch board tray this took me about 20-30 min. works great when I first plugged it in it took about 20 sec. to start a little scary but all is well. David V Churchville , NY November 29, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FGHS2667KB0 Door display error "sy ce" I ordered 2 circuit boards, Main board (under fridge) and door circuit board. Either one could have been the reason for the communications error. Didn't want to take a chance and order the wrong one and wait a week for a different board. The problem was the main board. I will keep the door board as a spare. The replacement board was not identical to the original so there were adapter cables that had to be installed. A little tight fitting into the original box but it worked. Read More... 17 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
Gary B Virginia Beach , VA July 19, 2014 Appliance: Model FRIGIDAIRE LGHS2667KE0 5y ce error code for days & then fridge died Frigidaire LGHS2667KE0 intermittent error code. Cycle power would reset for a day (temporary fix). Order & replaced main control board mounted UNDER unit. Used the included wiring harness adapter to match the connectors on the new board. Plugged in & front panel was NOW DEAD! No lights - no op. I then ordered THIS front panel board & replaced. BINGO! Fridge is like new again. I was curious SO....I replaced the main board from under unit back to it's original with this new front board & the original code 5Y CE came back. Point? YOU MUST REPLACE BOTH OF THESE BOARDS. I believe it's a revision issue. I had a 6 year old set. The new one boards have newer connectors & part numbers. If you have this error code - do not waste time, order & replace BOTH at same time & you'll be happy!
