The original controller shorted out I accessed the controller from the side vent-panel on our chest freezer, simply unplugged the old controller and plugged in the new controller. It was pretty straight forward, but the new control was up side down from the one I replaced (burned up). The two wires were opposite from the original wires. I realized this after the first install.
