Gotta love the inter-webs and youtube.com I did a couple of searches and some troubleshooting. Everything pointed to the damper assembly and thermo so I ordered them as well as the new versions of the flimsy plastic drawer shelves, while I was working out of state during COVID. I had the parts waiting for me at the house. Rolled in Sunday, 22 minutes later, damper and thermo installed. The fridge is cooling. Then measured the inset glass, replaced inset glass With cut glass from hardware store. Need the extra shelf more than the drawer. Philip E Woodbridge , VA January 21, 2019 Appliance: Model FR53R5EMB4 Shelves and the water stopped working (though the ice still did) Shelving went in without a problem. Very simple. Checked the installation video anyway in case there was a trick to not breaking something. Learned that the nylon clips needed to be transferred and found one missing on another shelf, so ordered a replacement. The water valve was one I replaced some time ago but one of the solenoids was bad, confirmed with a meter (ohm reading is between 200-500; less than 200 or more than 500 is broken). Replaced it without a problem (becoming expert at it!). Problem with the water persists, checked all the other lines but isolated a clog in the line inside the freezer door. Ice works so will postpone replacing refrigerator. Most of the tools/time was for the clogged line trouble shooting. The valve took less than an hour. Read More...
