Brian N Huntsville , AL December 18, 2015 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator PHSC39EJSS1 Freezer was not cooling Got the six year old refrigerator from my daughter because of it freezing up but was in good ( Stainless Steel) shape to replace our 21 year old Kitchen Aid. The thermistor had been replaced as a cheap first step but didn't correct the problem as it totally froze over within five days. I decided to tear down again and check the defrost heater element which was found to have an open circuit and hence the replacement part. Thanks to AAP, I ordered the part at the weekend, was shipped on Monday by FedEx to Huntsville Al and arrived at 1:13 pm Tuesday -- not bad for 7 day shipping, Heh!!! Great work. The repair took longer than normal but most was done during the delivery date. Firstly, the Nylon support bracket failed when being removed, the two single supports broke off but drilling four holes and using nylon Zip ties, it was repaired and much stronger than original. BTW after drilling out the pop-rivet in the back plate, the hex screw had been over tightened and sank into the slot where a nut drives head could not grip it - using a small wood chisel and cutting away around the hole solved the problem but then I had to drill more holes in the bracket and back plate to remount everything. Used four 5/8" stainless steel screws to remount. TIP, drop a string with a small socket down the RH path and attach to the element to help guide the right leg when feeding the new one back up. I also cut a 2 inch hole in the front plate, cut a 1/4 inch slice of 2 inch PVC pipe and glued it to a 2 1/4 diameter piece of Lexan to make a view port in the center area of the radiator - more use than the small access port at the top. The freezer now is functioning perfectly. Thanks again APP and the other review posted that made the repair go so well. Rod K La Crescenta , CA September 11, 2017 Refrigerator would not defrost I measured the continuity of the defrost heater element and the thermostat and they were both good. This only left the main control board. I ordered all three because it was only a matter of time before either the heating element or thermostat went bad. I only changed out the control board and now have the other parts on hand for an immediate fix in the future. Appliance pros were awesome. I paid just a little more for the faster shipping and got the parts the next day even though I expected 2 day minimum. The website is great. Plug in your model number and it will tell you part compatibility and search out for all compatible parts. Awesome feature. Put a couple of 2x4s under the refrigerator to elevate it and make it easier to get the control board out. I used a crowbar to lift the refrigerator to place the 2x4s. Defrost problem fixed ! Don L Peachtree City , GA March 12, 2019 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FPHC2399KF0 Refrigerator not cooling freezer ok Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. Re-installed new heater and strap per the video instructions, repair complete. Most difficult steps were drilling out the drain pan rivet and re-threading the heater through the evaporator coils.
