Jerry P Shawnee , KS January 21, 2017 Appliance: Model FRIGIDAIRE Frig door hinge worn letting door drag on bottom My 10 year old frig door was hanging down to the point it wasnt fully closing and sealing unless you picked up on it. I ordered a lower hinge bracket, upper and lower bearing, and spacer. My bracket was bent down a little due to my kids hanging on the door when looking at the bottom shelf and i discovered my bracket was held on by only two bolts when there was supposed to be three. I ordered a bolt too. I was able to remove the bottom hinge, remove door to replace upper and lower bearing and remount door with new lower bracket and spacer in about ten minutes. Now the door closes like when it was new. Oh it did take a little extra time to empty the food from the door and take the opportunity to give it a good cleaning. Appliance Parts Pros video, which recommended using a block of wood to hold the refrigerator door during the hinge swap, was very helpful. Sam M Boswell , OK October 20, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRT21IL4FW8 Door hinge washer I put a piece of two-by-four, (2"x4") about 10-inches long on edge under the door to support the door. I removed the 3-bolts attaching the door hinge at the bottom corner. I then slid the washer onto the post and placed the bracket back in place with the 3-bolts. That did the trick. I used a 3/8-inch socket with extension and a ratchet. Read More... 9 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Socket Set
