Description

This compressor start device briefly energizes the compressor's start winding to get it running, then disengages automatically. Replacing a weak or open PTC can restore cooling and stop the repeating hum-click from the compressor area.

• Provides the initial boost for the compressor to start, then opens as the PTC warms
• Helps the compressor start reliably on each cooling cycle

What's included: 1 PTC compressor start device Install notes:

• Disconnect power and pull the unit forward to access the compressor compartment
• Remove the start-device cover; note wire positions
• Pull the old start device straight off the compressor terminals; avoid bending the pins
• Align the new device with the C–S–R terminals in the same orientation, push on fully, reconnect wires, reinstall cover, and restore power
• Inspect the mating overload protector and terminal connectors for heat damage before reassembly
