Benjamin G West Sacramento , CA January 07, 2017 Appliance: Frigidaire Electric Range FES367CESD The rocker switch for to adjust the size of the heating element for the stove broke as well as the rocker switch to adjust the oven light broke I purchased 2 new light rocker switches, Because the heating element rocker switch was unavailable. First I removed the power source for safety. Then I simply pulled each switch out individually with a flathead screwdriver for leverage. I simply unplugged the wires from the old rocker switch, discarded the old rocker, plugged the wires into the new rocker switch, and pushed the new switch appropriately back into the control panel. I used the same steps for both rocker switches. Once finished I turned the power source back on. And everything functioned perfectly. Extremely easy repair. Turning off the powersourse during this repair is extremely important!! Tip: when unplugging the wires from the old rocker switch, Keep a grip on the wires, if you let go of them you can lose them in the hole. Retrieving them requires dismantelling the front panel of the control panel which is not as simple of a process. Janis W Sunnyside , WA November 19, 2019 Appliance: Model ES100 Switch for interior light burnt out door gasket torn off Replaced the light switch from the back panel - so easy after thinking it would be impossible. We took the front door panel off to have a better look at the gasket attachment - so easy it’s embarrassing we didn’t do it sooner. We manage an apartment building and have several ranges like this. We won’t let it intimidate us again! Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Ronald C Portland , OR January 03, 2017 Appliance: Frigidaire Electric Range FEF369CGSD The surface dual element switch had cracked and burst into pieces the element was stuck on the small element and could not be switched the switch was discontinued and no longer available Appliance Pros suggested a suitable replacement. I ordered the replacement and received in two days. I installed the replacement, which fit well, and the outer element works fine. There was a slight difference in the orientation of the spade connectors, and the plastic insulator between the connectors was not present. However, the location and arrangement of the spade connectors were identical and the replacement was easily made. Jeremy C Mentor , OH August 19, 2016 Oven light switch was shorting out causing it to burn up I'm not a do it yourself guy, at least not a really skilled one. So at first I called an appliance repair company who had an $89 service call plus parts. I went on appliancepartspros.com and found the part I needed in about 5 minutes. I was still unsure about doing the work myself but after watching a video that was on the site I realized I was fully capable. I received the switch in 1 day and after removing the panel on the back of the oven it was as simple as unplugging 2 wires from the bad switch and plugging them into the new switch. A less than 5 minute job that saved be $90! Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers
