Richard E Burke , VA May 11, 2019 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FGHB2844LF5 Freezer coil freezing up Fingers are crossed...second time I have been in the freezer compartment on my Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator. Take about 10 minutes to strip the baskets, door and top shelf to get to the back panel. Took 30 minutes with a hairdryer to clear the frost/ice from the cold and 2 minutes to change out the thermistor. Because I have tested the defrost coil using manual activation, I did not change out the coil. The fan has always worked. Will know in two weeks if the defrost problem is solved or the control board (defrost timer) needs o be replaced. Don E Owensboro , KY December 16, 2020 Appliance: Model FGHN2488LF3 Bottom freezer cold but top warm It had a code on the front of SY EF, which for a Frigidaire indicates a bad evaporator motor. I made a few phone calls to "technicians" and found they don't know how to troubleshoot. They're just part changers and that gets expensive. I learned electronics in the Army, so I went on this site and called them. I needed to know what the input voltage to the fan was and which pins to check it on. That wasn't available on the site, but I got help with it on the phone call to this site. The temperature thermostat wasn't in real good shape so I replaced it too. Fridge works great now and after an adjustment to the water level in the tray, the ice maker makes ice again. NOTE to management: Please add info about ohms and voltage checks. I know it may be on those diagrams, but even after blowing them up, there not readable, at least on this customer's end. I'd give you a 5 STAR rating if more was added to the troubleshooting. I had another device to check, but no info on Ohm's reading I should get. Hiram G Tinton Falls , NJ July 05, 2020 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator EI23BC65KS5 I’ve build up on the walls of the bottom freezer and not making ice. After calling a repair person and after two visits, he was unable to fix the problem. Not to mention we paid over $120 for his expertise. How disappointing. We will never call them again. We went online and after a couple of utube videos my husband figured out what was needed. We ordered the parts from appliance parts pros and they arrived within 24 hours. My husband installed the parts and our refrigerator is working better than before. We thank you because you saved us from spending money on a new refrigerator. The parts we ordered was evaporator coil heater and a thermostat.
