Description

This hood damper assembly opens to allow exhaust airflow and closes to help block outside drafts and odors when the fan is off. It restores proper venting and prevents back-drafts in over-the-range hoods and microwaves. What it does:

• Opens with the vent fan to let cooking smoke and steam exit the home.
• Closes when the fan is off to reduce backdrafts, outside air, and odors.
• A faulty or stuck damper can cause reduced airflow, rattling noises, or air blowing back into the kitchen.
