How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7216188 / WB30X46987 Range Bake Element

I order the part and when it came I took the old part out and replaced it with the new one. it was a very easy fix... 

Repair was easy, 2 screws 10 minutes. Parts were ordered Monday night and installed wendsday 

Ordered new part, swap out old for new element 

Heating element was easy to replace unscrewing the two screws and unplugging the connectors from the broken element and then reversing the process to put in the new element. The gasket on the other hand required me to dismantle the door. Remove the old gasket and replaced the new gasket and then putting the door together again. This took some time and there were no instructions for the job so went by the seat of my pants. The gasket fits well and the oven has more consistent heat. 

Ordered part, came FAST......was here in 2 days!! And my handy dandy fiance swapped the old for the new in 10 mins or less. Easy peasy. 

The replacement piece was perfect and easy to install. Success! Unfortunately, in the process, we couldn't get the oven door back on. So now the original issue is fixed, but the oven has evolved into a large open hole with heating capabilities. The stovetop, however, works great and has been promoted to primary cooking appliance. The oven door is currently being held shut with tape until further notice, which is a level of engineering I'm choosing to be proud of. 

Son-in-law installed it in oven. 

I replaced the bottom element, which was not heating up. All elements were used for preheat, but the bottom on was used for temperature maintenance. 

I replaced it this time with a factory OEM big element from Hotpoint or general electric which is the parent company there's no comparison the two other elements that I bought burned out quickly and I was lucky the second time that my house didn't burn down on that failure do yourselves a big favor don't buy that important stuff there's too much at stake putting it into your oven and having it fail I'm very pleased with the element that I bought and I've learned my lesson
