Curry R Fayetteville , GA December 07, 2018 Appliance: Model GE GSS25KGMCBB Refrigerator door was not closing on its' own we had to push it closed I watched several videos to identify the problem, worn/broken cam riser on bottom door hinge. I ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros.com to replace the cam. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong part due to the pitiful GE door assembly diagram and parts description I was unable to complete the repair. I then called Appliance Parts Pros and was advised that the part I needed is no longer being made and is only available if I googled the part number and found one online. He then gave me the correct part number and I did find one on eBay and have ordered it. Once I have the part it will take less than fifteen minutes to replace it and eliminate the improper door closing problem. The young man who I spoke to at Appliance Parts Pros saved the day for me! Alice H Wickenburg , AZ August 18, 2017 Appliance: Model GE GSS25WGMD WW Door would not finish closing on its own as it had before (exterior door "fresh food side") 1) By using google to find videos on why the door wouldn't close, I found out I needed new cams, those same videos also showed how to remove and replace the door. 2) Then by googling the fridge model number and the word 'cam', I was able to find the parts. 3) Taking the door off was simple, I needed a phillips head screwdriver to remove the hinge cover, however the screws in the hinge plate were so tight, I needed a side handle socket wrench to loosen them. 4) The door itself is not hard to handle than say one of the old Dyson Vacs from the 90s. 5) Replacing the cams was simple, just remember one of those cams is on the ubderside of the door so you have to turn the door upside down once you get it off. 6) Along with the replacing the cams I also added a trust washer under the cam that sits on the hinge attached to the body of the fridge. (not on door bottom). 7) Putting the door back on was a little tricky, but nothing big. --------------> LESSON LEARNED <--------------- 8) The door STILL would not close properly after completing all the above steps,ONLY after RELOADING all the grocery items back into the door compartments, did the door start shutting on its own again.
