Kerianne S Saunderstown , RI September 29, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Microwave PVM1970SR1SS Replacement of charcoal filter I removed the plastic plate at the top of the microwave (behind the door) by unscrewing two screws with a screwdriver. I then pulled out the old filter, and placed the new one in the designated area. No tools are needed to insert the filter....just a screwdriver to remove/replace the plastic plate. Very simple. The part# was wrong. Returned filters. Searched site via model# and found correct filter. Filter looked too large for opening - your support guys explained how it was mounted on an angle.
