Frank D Newark , CA June 15, 2021 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDT825SSJ2SS Blacked out ui panel won't turn on Originally tried replacing the main control board (steady green LED) on my PDT825SSJ2SS and didn't solve. Main symptom was dishwasher kept turning on and off on it's own every few minutes until the DW finally died and became unresponsive. Built back in 2017 -- replaced UI top logic after pulling the door off along with door harness and all is well again. One caveat for separating the two pieces of the door on the PDT825SSJ2SS model, there are 6 of 8 screws that you need to remove. Instead of pulling outwards as seen videos online, you need to push/slide the inside panel forward (away from you) first and then pull up as there are clips that hook into the outside door frame. If you pull outwards (or up) without sliding first, you will break the clips that attach the inside panel to the outside door frame. Mark W Monroe , CT January 28, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDT825SSJ0SS Ge dishwasher would not turn on / respond at first cycling the power would sometimes fix the issue but it gradually got to the point where we could not get it on First I tried replacing the control board on the bottom of the unit. But that did not fix the issue. I also noticed that the LED power indicator on the control board was lighting up fine... so that should probably have tipped me off initially that the control board was not the issue. After a little more research, I decided to try the user interface board at the top of the machine. This board was a bit more of a pain to access, but machine started right up and has been working well since replacement. No communication to the controls from the main board. We purchased a new UI Board to be replaced in the door of the dishwasher. Looked at YouTube descriptions of the removal of the door and taking apart the door for access to the UI Board. Did the work and replaced the board.
