Ge WD21X10490 Door Latch OEM Part

After I double checked that the unit did have power to it, I concluded it was probably a switch or the User Interface Board. I found the parts on the AppliancePartsPros for the best price and delivery. After the parts were delivered two days later, it took me a couple hours to disassemble and re-assemble the door for the dishwasher and luckily everything seems to be working fine three days and three loads later. The only issue I had was with the User Interface board..... this is a generic replacement, and the instructions tell you to reset the "Personality" by positioning the sleeves over some pins on the board in the proper sequence. The instructions are not user friendly... Maybe if a seasoned repairman would know what to do right away, but as a DYI kind of guy, it was not very clear. If you read this, the various combinations are on the BACK of the sheet.

Ordered a control board and door latch first. Installed them and it was still dead. Then, ordered the user interface board. Installed the UI board and it the dishwasher works fine now.

Based on our research, the dishwasher latch was one of the most common causes for our model of dishwasher malfunctioning. We purchased this replacement unit, and thanks to the help provided via videos and diagrams, my wife and I were able to very easily install the new latch. While this replacement did not totally fix our problem, it was part of it. Shipping on the part was very quick, I ordered it on Friday night, and the latch arrived Saturday morning.

The circuit board under the machine needed replacing. Pretty easy if you are willing to not force it in. Two screws, four all different plugs, two guide holes for the wiring. I bought a latch but did not need to install it.

Ignore the blogs that say the code is either for the door switch or the main control board. Just buy both of them because it is cheaper than a new dishwasher. Easy as
