Michael S Macedonia , OH January 15, 2016 Control board short I needed to replace the light bulb in the oven, but forgot to turn off the breaker and unplug the oven (NEVER DO THIS)!!! There was a spark, and my control board was fried. The range top worked fine, so I knew if was the control board (if you no longer see the digital clock and none of the buttons are responsive, it's a pretty good indicator that it's toast). Simple fix. Buy this part, turn off the breaker, unplug the appliance, remove the backing from the unit, remove 4 screws, swap out the terminals exactly as they are labeled. Fixed. 5 - 10 minutes tops. Might need a pair of needle nose pliers for any terminal connections that are tight. Thanks Appliance Parts Pros! Bryce M Hooper , UT January 15, 2017 Appliance: General Electric General Electric JB650ST2SS Ge oven control board had a short while changing oven light bulb Pulled off access panel. Took a picture of old unit before unhooking anything to verify wiring for the new unit. Unplugged and unscrewed the old unit. I had to peel the old overlay off and install onto new unit. I should have just purchased new overlay. Installed new unit in reverse order from disassembly then verified wiring to picture. Reinstalled access panel. Don't trust the average ship time while ordering. It said 1.7 days and it took a week for me to get the component. I would have just spent the extra money to guarantee shipment. This average time should be removed from the site. It is very deceiving. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers
