Greg W Livermore , CA May 19, 2017 Appliance: Model JKP90D-P1BB My ge combo microwave/oven model number jkp90d p1bb control panel was indicating the control panel was shorted I ordered a replacement control panel from Appliance Parts Pros and requested one day shipment as we rely heavily on our microwave. It arrived early the next day. I shut off the power to the the appliance and jumped into the replacement. It was not hard but involved a bit more than originally planned. I had to remove a couple of pieces of trim but these were only held on by a couple of screws. After removing the trim and two screws later the control panel was removed. I had to remove and relocate the oven control to the new control panel as it did not come with the new control panel. This was four screws and one ribbon cable. There were several other cable connections to the microwave control that had to be relocated to the new control panel. After making all of the connections and replacing the control panel and trim - I reenergized the appliance and all was back to normal. All told it took about 20 minutes to complete. Jacquelyn S Lafayette , LA June 09, 2019 GE combo microwave and oven random beeps from control panel Googled the symptom, ordered the control panel, removed the bad panel and installed the new one. Very simple fix, take pictures of panel with all wires connected before removing, so you can put them back on the new panel properly. Disconnect two plugs under microwave to disconnect power to the unit. You will need a Torx screwdriver or socket set to remove the microwave trim piece. Be aware that the panel has a metal piece on the bottom by the door release that has to be slid off the unit to remove it. You will reuse it on the new panel. Took longer to locate the best priced panel online from this company than to do the repair.
