Description

This refrigerator temperature control thermostat regulates cooling by sensing the compartment temperature and switching the compressor on and off. Replacing a worn control restores consistent temperatures and proper cooling cycles. What it does

• Senses fresh food compartment temperature and responds to your dial setting
• Opens/closes electrical contacts to start and stop the cooling system
• Maintains target temperature within the control's range
• Common symptoms: refrigerator too warm or too cold, runs constantly, won't start cooling, temperature doesn't change with the knob

Install notes

• Disconnect power before servicing; wear appropriate gloves
• Access the control in the fresh food control housing; remove the cover and knob as needed
• Note wire positions; transfer wires and any bracket exactly as found
• Carefully route the sensing tube in the original path without kinking; set to a mid setting and allow 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize
