To replace gasket big problem! Need to take door apart to be able to slide gasket onto the edge on door.the location and krimp marks make it very difficult to put gasket on and stay on. Christopher B Lake Orion , MI September 03, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GHDA696P02SS Door of dishwasher dropped when released do to a broken spring Removed two screws for the bottom access panel and two screws on the underside of the countertop. This allowed the dishwasher to be moved forward approximately 3 inches to access the spring location. There was no need to disconnect power or water. Tilting the top of the washer forward allowed additional room to hook the top of the spring to the hinge pin. The job took about 20 minutes total. Ronald V Aurora , OH March 11, 2019 Appliance: Bosch GE010-010 Dishwasher door fell all the way down due to broken spring Replaced with new springs I ordered, but door still fell flat (evidently new spring not as strong tension-wise). So from schematic diagram of dishwasher instructions found on-line, discovered there is an adjustment to spring tension, if needed, with 6 hole locations to stretch the spring greater than original hole placement. The repair was super easy; the door now opens slowly. Thanks Appliance Pros :) No tools needed for the repair. Just a simple screwdriver to remove the screws from the bottom of the counter top.
