Description

The Drive Belt is an OEM part for GE dryers. This belt wraps around the dryer drum, the tension pulley, and the motor pulley, enabling the drum to rotate during the drying cycle. It ensures the effective tumbling of clothes for efficient drying.

Squealing drum

I replaced the idler pulley assembly, the bearing plastic and the drive belt. While disassembled I cleaned the interior of the cabinet and lubricated the drum bearings with silicone after cleaning everything thoroughly. The dryer is now quiet and hopefully stays that way.
