Barry S Sumas , WA April 19, 2017 The 3 coil burner on our ge glass top stove blew It was pretty simple, for an adventurous DIYer, with basic tools. First step was to check out some YouTube videos; a great resource. • Turn off the breakers for the stove/oven. • Remove 2 small bolts from the underside at the front of the stove top. • Tilt up the stove top and prop it up with a couple of sticks of wood (about a forearm length.) • Take a photo of the wiring patterns, then unplug the wires. (You could also colour-code with paint pens.) • Remove the retainer clips, holding the burner in place. • Put new burner in place and attach clips and wires. • Lower stove top into position and install the retaining bolts. • Turn circuit breakers back on, check the burner function and reset the stove clock. Done in less than 1/2 hour! Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
Saul T Rosharon , TX July 16, 2016 Appliance: Model GE JB850 Only 2 elements out of 5 would turn on they were only half on I looked online to see what the issue could be on YouTube. I found out that replacing the elements was one possibility to fix it. I opened the stove took pictures and took out the radiant element to find out on the inside they had been burned. This solidified the issue. I ordered them right away and it worked! No need to call a repairman!
