David S Vienna , VA February 13, 2016 Appliance: Model 164D3871 P001 The "+" button on the display was not always responding to touch it was getting very difficult to adjust time and temperature on the oven My wife put the faceplate on the oven control while I accessed the display by pulling the oven out, unplugged it, and removed the rear cover. Only three nut head screws held the upper back panel. 4 nut screws hold the display onto the oven, they were easily removed. My wife took a couple photos of the rear wiring to ensure we plugged the new oven control in properly (there are a fair number of wires but they are color coded in most cases). Turns out we didn't need the photo. As we pulled a wire from the old control we immediately attached it to the new display (since there were two of us). A bit of tugging was needed on a couple of wires to get them off the old display. Once the new display was wired, I remounted the control to the oven and reattached the rear cover. I plugged the oven back in and tested all the functions on the display. Once I verified the oven control was working the burners, oven, etc my wife and I pushed the oven back into position. I highly recommend you purchase the faceplate that goes with the control. As a test, I tried to peel the old faceplate off - forget about it. You'll save a lot of time if you get a new face plate.
