Ira W Grantsville , UT April 01, 2020 Cooling fan burned up. I had to take the top panels off and two back panels off. Took off about thirty screws. It was very dirty and dusty inside so I took the lower panels off as well to clean and vacuum it. The hardest part was getting the double oven out of the cabinet. Overall it was very doable. George P Driftwood , TX June 25, 2021 Appliance: Model JT5500SP3SS Error code F96 on GE oven jt5500sp3ss To replace the cooling fan which is located on the upper back left of the oven, it required removing the oven and 3 metal panels. To remove the oven the best way was to remove the oven doors first which will reduce the weight significantly. Once I did this it was much easier to left the oven by myself and move on a self made stand. After the removal of the metal panels there were 4 screws to remove the metal plate holding the fan to oven, 2 electrical plugs, and then another 4 screws to remove the fan from the metal plate. After a little cleaning to remove some grease and replacing the fan (also replaced the Hall Effect module but I don't think this was bad), it was easy to put back into the oven reversing the process. Also please remember to remove power during this process. Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers

James P Conway , SC February 14, 2024 Lower oven cooling fan error. Ordered the replacement fan from AppliancePartsPros.com. Ordered and shipped the same day. Arrived next day! The hardest part of the repair was sliding the built-in oven/microwave unit out of the cabinet it was installed in. Once I had access it was just a matter of removing a couple of sheet metal covers, removing the old fan, installing the new one and buttoning it up. That did the trick and the oven is working again.
