John K Washington , DC March 11, 2017 Appliance: General Electric Gas Range JGBP86SEM1SS One burner igniter failed on 5 burner ge stove A word of caution - Due to not fully analyzing the situation upfront, I ultimately replaced more parts than necessary. So don't forget to check the spark module (the little electronic gadget that powers all the igniters), rather than jumping to the conclusion that the individual igniter or associated igniter cord is the problem (as I mistakenly did). Still, even with those additional replacements, the repair proved quick and easy thanks to the wide stock and helpful videos of APP. Plus the repair was less expensive than a single visit from a service tech would have been. Basically, I first replaced the individual burner igniter and the individual cord leading to the burner igniter. Upon realizing the problem still persisted even after those replacements, I then checked the spark module and determined it was actually the source of the problem. Replacing it resolved the problem with the burner. Each parts replacement had an accompanying video at APP, which confirmed the simple steps while emphasizing the necessary cautions of working on a stove, namely disconnecting gas and power while completing the work. Jonathan H Menlo Park , CA November 11, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Gas Range PGB908SEM1SS One of the burners on the range wouldn't ignite I determined that the problem was the wire going to the ignitor at the burner by process of elimination (swapping with the other wires). I then saw that the faulty wire was missing some insulation. (It turns out it was eaten by a mouse). The biggest problem I encountered was that you must remove the ignitors (little white ceramic things with metal centers) first, before opening the range top. If you don't it will bend the supply tubes. In my case, one was already fatigued and it broke and also had to be replaced. I have to praise AppliancePartsPros.com because the parts were very reasonably priced and arrived very fast.
