Ronald I Las Vegas , NV March 02, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDW7880G00SS The hinge arm link broke I watched the repair video and ordered the part ( I luckily ordered two links). The video was not exactly for my model dishwasher but I did follow the instruction for removal from the cabinet. Since my model was not shown, I was looking to see how the door spring and the Hinge Arm Link was supposed to be set up. I had the impression that the door spring and link was only on the right side of the dishwasher. I finally figured it out and took pictures of the set-up for the next time the link broke. As I was pushing the dishwasher back into the cabinet, I noticed the spring and link on the left side, It would have been a lot easier if I knew about the second door spring. So I replaced the plastic Hinge Arm Link on that side too. Read More... 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Mark P Waterford , MI December 29, 2014 Ge profile dishwasher door not staying up must be a spring issue After watching the video on Appliance Parts Pro I understood what to look for. Took off the toe kick and determined it was the plastic part that holds spring onto door. Only one side was broken but still allowed the door to slam to the floor if not held onto. Ordered parts and tracked them which arrived on Christmas eve which was great because we had many guests over on Christmas. The repair was straight forward and easy. Needed to pull the dishwasher rout to make sure spring is attached to the correct hole. After reinstalling I noticed that when there is a load on the door when open it clicks down past horizontal so it must have damaged the hinge when the door hit the floor several times. Make sure you check this before you reinstall the dish washer. I will need to pull it back out to investigate the damage.
