Luis A Katy , TX April 06, 2019 Exterior part of oven door getting very hot We noticed the issue while cooking a pizza and a few minutes later the oven stopped operating. The heat not only impact the door but all the exterior parts around the oven. I was going to call a GE technician, and they were going to ask me 100 $ only for the visit. I started to look for potential reasons for the issue and noticed the door no longer stayed in placed while partially open. I then thought the spring of the hinges could be the issue, saw a couple of video in youtube about how to replace these in other GE models and decided to give a try. I bought my genuine GE parts at ApplianceParts Pros during a Sunday afternoon for almost 50% the price in others website and got these on Wednesday. In less than 15 minutes was able to replace the old hinges with the new ones. I am sure I saved myself at least 200$. The issue is now solved, the heat no longer goes to the exterior. Very happy with the product from appliances parts pros, by the way I compared it against the one that my 5 year old oven had and they were identical. The process to replace these is very easy, but have a couple of tricks which are clearly explained in all youtube videos that I saw. Read More...
