Dennis Z San Clemente , CA November 20, 2016 Ice flapper not closing causing ice jamming in chute Watched your videos and easily replaced the solenoid, spring, flapper etc. The only reason it took me as long as it did is I have a GE monogram side-by-side in cabinet refrigerator. It is stainless steel and required me to take off all of the stainless steel skin on the freezer side door. While this was not that difficult it was time-consuming. Daniel M Winnetka , CA September 16, 2015 Mold discovered on ice door Initially cleaned -wife using smaller hands. Better idea to review why there is no SOP on the matter, and replace the part. While pricing the door discovered nice pricing on drip tray, and while at it the touch pad was cracking, as well as the freezer slide out handles broke (and we thought they were just covers), so bought all we thought we could use. Disassembly was a little concerning due to never disassembled since bought. But all was easy enough. Using a pry-tool putty knife we disengaged the bezel. Unscrewed the control pad. Ice door was an easy snap out /in. Touch pad was connector-ized (no brainier there), all else simple swap and or snap back. Notes: wiring held by masking tape. Suggest take a picture before assembly, then reassemble using picture as guilde. Bezel a little challenging to snap back in. Be patient while working it to clear the little obstacles as it may require a sense of an even approach. Jay S North Hollywood , CA April 27, 2021 Appliance: Model 2ISB420DMA The water and ice dispenser on my 20 yr old GE monogram refrigerator stopped working. The housing shield had cracked, which caused the dispenser level from reliably pivoting and triggering the switch so replacing that caused the dispenser switch and hinge assembly to work reliably once again. Also, the ice-flapper would frequently stay open causing the ice shoot to frost up and get clogged, so replacing the ice dispenser solenoid fixed that problem as well. My cover collar had fallen several times and cracked and attempts to glue it did not work, so I ordered another one of those as well to make the whole thing work and look like new.
