Mark D Columbia , MO March 25, 2017 Ice bucket auger broke up front where the ice is pushed out of the freezer This was a little more involved than I originally thought, but after watching the video on the site it wasn't so bad. They walk you through each step verbally and visibly so you can see exactly what to do. Replacing the auger took around 20 minutes, and only that long because the screw holding the ice shield was a bit tough to turn. I just applied gentle pressure and turned slowly until it became loose. The rest was fairly easy, but I did get a small cut from the ice crusher blades. Nothing serious, but watch out because they are sharp! Read More... 131 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Donald M Oriental , NC April 05, 2014 The ice auger in my GE Fridge/Icemaker broke I went to website, entered model, went to diagram and there it was. The part was received promptly and was well packed and padded. I emptied the bin, placed entire assembly on work bench, carefully disassembled, installed new part and I am about ready to dispense a glasss of cubes for an adult beverage. Total time about 15 minutes. Just be organized and take a photo before disassembly if you think you might need it. Steve B Cottonwood , AZ March 31, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator GSH25JFTFWW The auger that pushes the ice out broke. It took about 20 minutes to disassemble the ice tray and replace the auger. Just be sure to pay attention to the order in which the ice crusher teeth and nylon spacers come out so that they can be replaced in the same sequence. I didn't, and had to refer to the schematic that I found online at the Appliance Parts Pros webpage.
