Description

This styrofoam evaporator insulator fits behind the freezer evaporator to help control airflow and reduce unwanted frost buildup. It helps maintain consistent temperatures and keeps the evaporator cavity better insulated. What it does

• Provides thermal insulation behind the evaporator to reduce heat transfer and limit frost accumulation.
• Directs airflow around the evaporator area for more even cooling performance.
• Helps reduce cycling and run-time caused by excessive frost or uneven cooling.
• Common symptom fixes: excessive frost or ice on the back wall, inconsistent freezer temperatures, or longer-than-normal compressor run times.

Install notes

• Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid electrical shock.
• Remove/remove freezer panels and the evaporator cover as required to access the evaporator; retain screws and fasteners.
• Fit the insulator around/behind the evaporator per OEM orientation; avoid compressing or tearing the styrofoam.
• Take care not to damage the evaporator fins or tubing during installation; if adhesive or clips are used, replace or secure them as needed.
