The EVAPORATOR INSULATOR is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. It is a heat-resistant insulating pad or wrap that surrounds the evaporator coils. The insulator works to retain cool air and prevent warmer air from entering the refrigerated compartment.  

Causes of a bad insulator can include deterioration or breakdown of insulating properties over time due to aging materials. Cracks, holes, or compressed sections of the insulator result in reduced insulation performance.

• Remove/remove freezer panels and the evaporator cover as required to access the evaporator; retain screws and fasteners.
• Fit the insulator around/behind the evaporator per OEM orientation; avoid compressing or tearing the styrofoam.
• Take care not to damage the evaporator fins or tubing during installation; if adhesive or clips are used, replace or secure them as needed.
