Andrew R Greer , SC July 05, 2025 Ge refrigerator not making ice First, I replaced the ice maker. The first part I ordered was not correct, so I called and asked for advice and the experts were able to find the correct part and the return and re-order process was easy and quick. Unfortunately, the ice maker was not the only problem, as we still didn't have ice. I called the experts again for further advice, and they guided me through the process of checking the water valve assembly. When I took off the back panel, I found that one of the wires to the water valve has been chewed through. (mice??? I don't know the full history of this appliance, so who knows) Once again the experts guided me to the correct part, and I replaced it, and now we have ice.
