Ge WB03X24360 Burner Knob Assembly OEM Part

While trying to fix the problem I broke the knob. Appliance Parts Pros.com had the part delivered in 2 days! After looking at the video I decided there was a poor ground at burner #1. Removal of burner confirmed my suspicion. Years of use “spills” has insulated the burner from a good ground, thus preventing a good spark. Removal of black residue cleared the problem. I am now in the process of cleaning the remaining 4 burners just to be sure.

Ordered the new knob and just replaced it! The new one is exactly the same as the old one, only not broken! Appliance Parts Pros was about $10 cheaper than buying directly from GE.

I checked the transformer and the spark module with an Ohm meter and then determined it was the harness wire switch. It should be noted that after I cleaned all of the igniters with rubbing alcohol and plugged the range back in, all five of the igniters began to spark and light the burners when gas was turned on but the igniters continued to spark with all of the burners turned off. This told me my harness wire switch was not working properly. I took apart the range until I could unplug the old harness wire switch and install the new harness wire switch. I took photos of the old one so I had something to look at while installing the new harness wire switch. I simply put everything back together and it worked fine. Just make sure the range is unplugged and the gas is off during the work.
