Norbert G Hempstead , NY July 14, 2025 Appliance: Model GTX18GSSJ1 WW Plastic shaft on dryer timer rounded required replacement to function Easy fix, first I unplugged the dryer. Then removed the 6 Philips head screws on head unit back panel. Photographed wiring on timer. Removed the 1 torx screw holding the timer assy in place, the front panel knob was already off, would no longer stay on. Removed the wires from the timer assy, removed the timer, replaced it with new one, reinstalled torx screw. Reattached the wires to the positions removed from. Pressed the new knob on the shaft at front panel, tested it functioned and in the correct positions. Attached head unit back panel, reinstalled the screws. Plugged dryer back in, checked its operation. It functioned as it should. Total time to repair ~10 mins. Allen W Champions Gate , FL May 03, 2020 Timer switch on clothes dryer was broken. Went through several knobs but finally had to use pliers to turn it on, which was not a long term solution. Ordered the new timer switch, it arrived in three days and 5 mins later it’s all fixed and pliers are back in the tool box where they belong. Read More...
