Mark H Lawrenceville , GA February 27, 2015 Appliance: Model DVLR223EEOW My ge dryer was making a thumping noise while running and got louder as it warmed up sounded like like the noise was coming from the tension pulley at the lower left hand side of the dryer Went ahead and replaced the pulley as well the drum bearing sleeve and O ring, drum belt and the front drum bearing slides. Jai P Rio Rancho , NM January 08, 2021 Appliance: General Electric Electric Dryer DPVH880EJ0MG Squealing dryer I replaced the slide bearings a few years back. A few months later the rear bearing started to go so I replaced that one. Bad idea. Replace these two at the same time. The wobbling from the rear bearing failure caused accelerated wear on the slide bearings. Without the money to fix it I ran it as it was. Another bad idea. The drum not only chewed through the slide bearings, but eventually the assembly as well. I replaced the whole assembly and rear bearing at one time a couple days ago. It was really not that hard, though it did take a full day due to a stripped screw that eventually had to be drilled out. Would’ve only taken about an hour without that issue and now it runs smooth and quiet. Curt C Jackson , MI September 02, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Electric Dryer DCVH660EH0GG Felt trap duct dislodged from slot and bearing slides and rear drum sleeve worn Selected and ordered parts from online drawings. Watched videos showing how to make repair. Replaced worn parts with new ones. Suggested improvement: Videos didn't show my model (I know there are many models, showing all is probably not possible). In case of Felt the video showed a Maytag dryer when my model was GE. In my case Felt had torn and dislodge from slot so I didn't know exactly how it should be installed. A simple picture of the installed Item would help. Also the parts list should give number of each item required. The bearing slides require 2 of each type, the drawing only shows one and the parts list doesn't say 2 required. Other sites did specify this.
