Bette H Byram , MS December 19, 2014 Control panel for hotpoint electric range was not working One of your technicians told me to check and see if the overlay was torn. It was and the tear was not allowing the control button under the overlay to release so none of the oven controls or timer would work. This advice prevented me from purchasing a new control panel and instead I purchased just an overlay (about $15.00). When It came in I played a video on my laptop showing me how to install it. (I am not a skilled handyman...especially with anything electrical). Following the video I was able to remove the control panel, remove the old overlay and replace the new one in about 40 minutes. Proud of me! Could not have done it without your help. Fred Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
