Description

This gas flame sensor detects whether a burner's flame is present so the range/oven's gas valve and ignition control can operate safely. It helps restore reliable ignition and prevents the valve from staying open when no flame is detected. What it does:

• Senses the presence of a gas flame and signals the control to keep the valve open
• Helps prevent gas flow if a flame is not detected
• Can stop ignition or cause the oven/range not to heat when failing
• Commonly replaced when burners won't stay lit or control shows ignition-related errors
