Cesar G Chicago , IL July 24, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GDT695SSJ0SS 815 error code dishwasher thinks door is ajar. Indicator light would blink three times, make a sound, but the dishwasher would not run. After making sure there were no obstructions, no problems with seals, filters, and latch clean, I cut the power off and back on. The Dishwasher worked for a few more times. After that, cutting the power off and on no longer worked. I figured out what buttons to press and hold to find the error code (start/stop and cycle select), saw code 815, and then did a "hard reset" by pressing and holding other buttons. The dishwasher worked a few more times after that, but eventually needed another hard reset and then that fix stopped working. I removed the bottom panel and took out the control board and noted that the led indicator light was not illuminated, indicating it was not functioning properly. Purchased a new control here and have been using the dishwasher without any problems for a few weeks now. Jeremy S Elkton , MD May 10, 2020 E815 error code. Once I found out how to run the test by holding the start and select cycle button for 10 seconds. It displayed the code. Which I then googled to see what it was I found it was the control board. It’s a fairly easy fix. First, turn off the breaker, then remove the front panel, mine was held up by two 1/4” screws. Next removed the wire cover on the right-hand side by a Phillips screw to expose the wires. Unplugged the wire then removed the two screws holding up the panel, popped it down and there was the board. Unclipped a few wires, took out one screw, and removed the plastic clips. Switched it out and hooked everything back up and it worked. Problem solved. I checked for power at the junction box and at the connector to the door. I unplugged and re-plugged all of the connectors (power off). I replaced the control board. Finally, I replaced the upper logic board. Dishwasher is working - at least for the moment. Vern C London , KY April 15, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GDT695SMJ0ES GE dishwasher won't start and lights flashing. Being a retired auto technician I have some knowledge of electronics. I did not know my dishwasher would give a code until I started doing research on it. You can find a lot of info on the web free of charge. If you have any mechanical abilities at all you can diagnose most problems and repair them yourself at a fraction of the cost of calling a repair technician. My unit was giving code 815 which said a door switch or control board. There is a simple test to determine which. I had already tested the door switch before finding the code check procedure and determined it was good and after doing the test the code that said to do it pointed to the control board. I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com Those people are really great and helpful, I had my part the next day had my dishwasher up and running again in less than 20 minutes. The only tools needed were a Phillips #2 screwdriver and a 1/4 inch socket.
