Greg K Newton , MA October 07, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator PFCS1NJXBSS Broken water control on door Easy to replace with the shield and paddle assembly. Steps are: 1. use a flat head screwdriver to push the tabs at the base of the control panel. remove the wire connectors by gently prying them straight off. 2. remove the 4 phillips screws holding in the old assembly. 3. Install the new assembly by carefully putting the paddle behind the water pipe that sticks out. You may have to push the paddle one way to get it around the pipe and then back into place. 4. reinstall the screws. 5. reconnect the control panel and press it back into place. Scott H Columbia , SC October 03, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator PFCS1NJWASS The water dispenser paddle would not depress and dispense water Removed the electronics pad where the dispenser is by using a flat head screw driver inserted in the two tabs at the bottom of the pad. Prior it outward then pull down and the pad will pull off. Remove the 4 Phillips head screws and you simply replace the shield and paddle. I'm still not sure if it was simply the spring that was worn out or something else but it was in a depressed position up against the front of the refrigerator and wouldn't function. It only took 5-10 minutes to repair after unplugging the power. Be careful pulling on the pad so as not to crack it, once the bottom is loose pull it down and away and unplug the two plugs in the back of it. Lauren W Murrells Inlet , SC May 08, 2016 Broken tensioner on water dispenser Googled to find a video about fixing. Found AppliancePartsPros videos on other refrigerators and asked them if they had a video for the part I was needing. They knew exactly what I needed, sent me the part information and the diagram/picture so I could see what I was replacing and it was the perfect part. I then asked how to actually replace it and they responded very quickly and helped me. Wonderful service. Bryan H Suwanee , GA December 30, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator PFSS5NJWASS Would not dispense water Bought this part and it shipped the same day. It arrived before I was ready to install. Finally, today I followed the instructions from others and performed the entire repair in about 15 minutes with only two screwdrivers. Sliding the new paddle behind the water tube is a bit tricky, but positioning the paddle a little to one side allowed all to fall into place. Great part! Great price! Great fix! Read More...
