My user interface board had gone bad.

Got a new UI board and silicon pipe (the overlay that protects the UI board and has the rubber nodes that the plastic control buttons fit on) and voilà it worked. I should say that I forgot to adjust the jumpers on the UI board appropriately for my model dishwasher so I had to open it back up to make it work. We’re back in business.
