Arthur B Gaithersburg , MD December 02, 2014 Door stop bracket sheared after too much abuse There's what needed to be done and there was what was done. Either way it starts with the door stop bracket shearing off and needing to be replaced. Actual work wise. 1) Remove the shelves 2) Remove the 5/16th hex heads at the top 3) Lift the door up and lay it down 4) torx to get the bracket off and the new one on 5) Reverse process Time it should have taken: 30 minutes What actually happened: Watched the video for the wrong model. Curse and be stubborn while trying to figure out how to get the door off (including which tool do I need). Finally get the door off. Take the broken piece off, get distracted by my toddler making noble attempts at first steps, put the broken piece back on. Get the door on. Realize mistake. Do the job right. Laugh at my self because stupid stuff like this always happens. Tom S Kuna , ID November 23, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator GSHF5PGXAEBB The door stop broke after years of swinging open too fast This repair requires removing the door, but that turned out to be very easy. All the bins pop out, so i didn't have to remove jars and bottles one at a time. Two screws at the top of the fridge hold the bracket in place. Once that was off, the door just lifted off the pin. i laid the door down on a towel to protect it, and used a screwdriver (a torx) to remove two screws. That got the broken part off. Then in reverse, and the door was back in place. It probably took about 10 minutes all together, including wiping the door inside while i had the bins off, and removing the children's artwork from the front of the fridge. Matthew D Glenelg , MD October 16, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator PSE26KSEEESS Door stop on refrigerator door was broken. I purchased a replacement part from appliancepartspros.com. This was first time ordering from appliancepartspros. When the package arrived, one of the parts was missing. To me, a company that deals with issues quickly and easily is a good company. Appliancepartspros had the missing part in my hand the next day. I didn't have to wait on hold when I called, and the rep did not give me any hassle about the missing part. I would definitely recommend appliancepartsprops.com. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set
