Description

This refrigerator defrost thermostat senses evaporator temperature and controls power to the defrost heater. It helps prevent ice buildup and overheating so the unit can defrost properly and maintain steady, efficient cooling.

• Monitors evaporator coil temperature and controls the defrost heater circuit
• Opens to terminate the defrost cycle at the correct temperature to prevent overheating
• Failure symptoms can include heavy frost on the evaporator, reduced airflow/cooling, longer run times, or the freezer warming
