Mike K Lancaster , OH April 14, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave JEB1095SB002 The magnetron went out in the microwave. We removed the microwave from the built-in cabinet. Remove outer case panels. Removed wires that were attached to the thermostat and magneton. Removed four nuts that held in Magneton and a couple of screws . Removed the old thermostat and placed it on the new magneton. The new thermostat was on backorder at the time of the repair. Would recommend replacing the thermostat at time of repair. Reattached the wires and buttoned up the case.(Cauthe tion the capacitor is fully charged even though the unit is unplugged .The wire from the capacitor is attached to the magneton. You could get a severe shock if this is not treated right.) You can fix the unit without discharging it if caution is used. This is an easy repair .It will save you a great deal of money if you do your own repair. The phone staff that helped me were very helpful. They had a great attitude. Read More...
