Victoria M Falmouth , ME January 23, 2018 Appliance: Model GE DCVH680EJ1WW GE front loader dryer making loud noise and clothes were getting caught and twisted inside! Our GE front loader dryer is approximately 10 years old. It started making a loud noise. Before we sank another $600 for a new dryer, I decided to go online to search Youtube videos to try to find out if anyone else had the same problem. I found that a lot of dryers had drum support bearings that wore out and needed to be replaced and a lot of dryers were also having clothes caught up in them. I then found an Appliance Parts Pro video on how to fix this problem and found out what parts were needed to replace the worn out ones. I went on to AppliancePartsPros.com and started an online chat to find out exactly what I needed. The guy on the chat recommended everything to fix the dryer. The cost for the parts came to about $182 (which is still a lot less than buying a new dryer.) My husband took the dryer apart, vacuumed it out and replaced the drum support bearing, the bearing slides and the Trap Duct Assembly. He only needed a Phillips screwdriver. Took him about an hour and 1/2 to remove and replace parts. DRYER WORKS LIKE NEW! Heather P Salisbury , NC May 19, 2017 Trap duct broke and top bearing broke Simple fix. Removed plastic cover behind dials on top of dryer. Then you remove lid. Disconnect dial board from mother board and remove to screws holding that on. Then there are six screws that hold the front on. Top, behind door, and bottom of door close to floor. The bearing and trap duct snap in. Easy fix. The delivery time on my parts were super quick. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
