This is a flange nut that can be used in a variety of lawn and garden equipment from different manufacturers. The nut is made of metal, measures 5/16x18, and is used to secure components in place. The level of difficulty of replacing a flange nut depends on which parts it's securing and what kind of equipment it is installed on. This flange nut is an OEM replacement part that can be used with lawn mowers, snowblowers, wood chippers, tillers, log splitters, leaf blowers, and edgers by MasterCut, Craftsman, Yard-Man, Toro, Bolens, Cub Cadet, Montgomery Wards, Ryobi, Huskee, Troy-Bilt, MTD, and Yard Machines. This hex bolt is a necessary component used in a variety of small to medium sized gasoline powered engines used primarily in yard work, gardening, and landscaping. The primary use of this hex bolt is to secure the idler pulley assembly to the body of the machine. The idler pulley functions to engage the turning mechanism of the yard tool when engaged. The power yard tools that require an idler pulley which would use this screw are tillers, riding mowers, yard tractors, tillers, snow blowers and chippers. Engaging the rotating part of the yard tool places a great deal of resistance on the idler pulley, which may eventually result in it needing to be replaced. When replacing the idler pulley assembly, it's important to remember that the attaching hardware, such as the hex bolt, has also experienced a great deal of wear and should be replaced as well. This hex bolt attaches the idler pulley assembly directly to the machine housing and can be removed with a 9/16 wrench. Make sure when replacing the bolt to use a genuine OEM manufactured part that is identical to the manufacturer's original piece. This bolt is compatible with the following brands: Yard-Man, Bolens, Craftsman, Yard Machines, Troy-Bilt, Cub Cadet, Huskee, Ryobi, Murray, MTD, MasterCut, and Montgomery Wards.
This replacement part is a hex screw, and it is intended for use in different types of lawn equipment. This is a genuine replacement part made by MTD. This screw can be used in a variety of ways depending on the repair needed. Hex screws are similar to normal screws except they have a six-sided head, like a hexagon. A new hex screw might be needed if the current one is damaged or missing. It is common that screws may become stripped or loose overtime, causing them to fall out. If any parts of the lawn mower are becoming loose or falling off, the hex screw might be missing. This replacement should be fairly easy and should only require a screwdriver and possibly pliers. This part is a genuine OEM replacement part and is sold individually. Be sure to purchase the correct amount as some appliances require more than one hex screw.

This is a genuine OEM engine pulley sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on tiller engines and other engines with a pull start. The starter cord is attached to a pulley that has a spring for rewinding the cord after the engine starts. If the engine pulley is damaged due to rust or corrosion and the string won't pull, the engine won't start. The pulley may make screeching or whining sounds when pulled, this is one way to recognize that the pulley is beginning to go bad and should be replaced soon. Before replacing the pulley, make sure the engine is cool and remove the spark plug. Remove the starter housing to access the rope starter and pulley. Disassemble the pulley system and discard the old pulley. Reinstall the new pulley and thread the starter cord back around it.
