Channels defrost water from the drain outlet to the pan. Replace if cracked, disconnected, or clogged to prevent water pooling inside or leaking onto floor.

I went in through the lower back of my Whirlpool bottom-freezer refrigerator, found a duck-bill end on the existing drain tube, and removed it. Less than a cup of water was released into the evaporator pan. I didn't need the drain tube I bought - and replacing it would have involved getting into the interior wall inside the freezer, which would have been a LOT more work.
