Hardwick Range / Cooktop / Oven Spring Parts
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP7803P058-60
This oven door spring restores the door's counterbalance so it opens smoothly and closes firmly. Replacing a fatigued spring helps prevent heat loss and supports consistent baking by ensuring the door seals properly. What it does:
- Provides tension to counterbalance the oven door through the hinge mechanism
- Helps the door close fully against the gasket to retain heat
- Restores smooth, controlled opening and closing action
- Common symptoms of a worn spring: door drops or feels heavy, won't stay closed, heat escaping/uneven temperatures
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect electrical power; turn off gas supply to the range if applicable
- Springs and hinges are under tension—support the door/hinge and use caution
- Note spring hook positions/orientation before removal; reinstall in the same locations
- After replacement, verify the door closes fully and the seal is even
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Oven door spring was broken Gerald G. • East Amherst , NY • March 28, 2015
It was a simple fix. I removed the six screws holding the side panel on the range. Removed the broken parks of the spring. I use a screwdriver to help stretch the new spring into place. I then replaced the side panel and screwed it on. About ten minutes work.
