Description

This is a zone control cable replacement made with a thick plastic outer sleeve that covers a high-quality metal cable. When a lawnmower’s engine refuses to stop even after letting go of the handle, its zone control cable may need replacement. A malfunctioning zone control cable prevents proper engine shutdown upon releasing the handle. This can cause unwanted continuous lawnmower operation. To install a brand-new zone control cable, make sure that the engine is cool first. Use work gloves for protection. Remove the spark plug wire connection to prevent the engine from accidentally starting. Then, disconnect the old control cable’s z end from the bail control bar or arm. If there are any cable ties at the handle assembly, clip those. To release the broken cable from the stop lever, use a long nose plier and press the tabs down. Then, remove the other z-end from the bracket. Get the replacement cable and insert the one end to the handle assembly. Grab the other end and attach it to the motor bracket. Make sure to snap it in place. The remaining z end should then be placed in the bail arm. You can use zip ties to secure the cable to the handle. Then, reattach the spark plug wire.
