Description

This genuine OEM replacement idler return spring is located in the lower deck of a lawn mower or lawn tractor and helps to secure the idler pulley in place. While a lawn mower is in motion, the parts of the lower deck can shift with inertia. To keep the idler pulleys securely positioned to the belt that drives the blade, manufacturers connect the pulley to the outer frame of the deck with an idler return spring. Springs slowly lose tension over time, and if the spring becomes too loose, the pulleys can become unsecured from their place on the lower deck.
