Description

This is a plunger and gear assembly that provides lubricating oil to chainsaws. This part is compatible with over 125 chainsaws. Proper lubrication of the cutting chain is necessary for chainsaws as the rotation of the chain through the wood results in extreme heat and diminished ability to smoothly cut. Lubricating oil cools the chain and smooths the travel of the chain around the blade. Through continual use, the plunger and gear assembly will wear and cease to function. A sure sign of this occurs when the oil reservoir is full, but the chain is heating up and chewing rather than cutting wood. To replace the plunger and gear assembly, first, remove the chain and detach the bar. Then the clutch mechanism can be unscrewed, revealing the gear and plunger unit.
